Hi community,
Im really new to this PAM solution, we have installed pam core in cluster with arbitrator. Everything seems to be working correctly. BUT when I enter https://ip.address_of_segura into browser it downloads about 25MB data, which takes up to 8minutes, no timout, it just loads reeealy slowly across EMEA - US region.
Im curious is it ok that it downloads this much data even before login? Once I enter username and password and hit enter, then again, next 20MB downloaded. In best scenario it takes about 40seconds to load login page. I know that we should increase uplink lines, but anyway, is there any option to reduce data that segura needs to just even login?
I am not certain regarding the downloaded data. However, in most cases, the slowness experienced when entering the IP address is related to the DNS configuration on Segura.
When we have only two nodes, an arbitrator is always required to manage the master instance failover. Since Segura uses a Galera cluster, an arbitrator is necessary in a two-node configuration to avoid split-brain scenarios.
This requirement applies regardless of whether the two nodes are located at the same site or in different sites.
well we have not configured dns yet, so this is reason why Im using IP directly.
I have attached login screen with details. With tiny little text right below is visible, that web page is 20MB big. Which is a lot for login page. So this is what Im curious, is it ok like this? Or do I have something fishy in there?
Hi Hassan,
you are right, we have two nodes and arbitrator. these two nodes are in same DC but in separated rooms, each is installed as virtual server and host is connected to core switch.
So this is why we are using arbitrator as it should be standard setup.
