The device connectivity test is performed automatically every 24 hours and once for each item.
If there is a need to update the connection at the time of item creation, there is the option to request the connectivity test manually, which will allow the connectivity status to be updated immediately.
The documentation on device connectivity (How to check the device connectivity) states the following:
All devices go through a defined connectivity verification flow. This flow occurs every 3 minutes and determines which devices are connectable.
I don’t think this is true, or it could be open to misinterpretation. What exactly happens every three minutes? It seems that the check itself only occurs after a device change or every 24 hours.
It would be great, if the frequency of connectivity tests could be adjusted in settings.
