Cluster Maintenance Guide with Shutdown or Restart in senhasegura Environments with Arbitrator

Procedure:

For any maintenance involving restarting (or shutting down) the instance, or stopping (or restarting) the database service in a senhasegura environment with an arbitrator, it is essential to remove the arbitrator from the cluster before performing these actions.

Step-by-Step:

  1. Remove the Arbitrator from the Cluster:

  2. Restart the senhasegura Instances:

    • Access the secondary instance through the mt4adm user on port 59022.
    • Execute the following command to restart the instance:
      orbit shutdown -r

    • After the instance fully reboots and syncs in the cluster, repeat the process for the primary machine.
    • After the procedure, return the arbitrator to the cluster.
  3. Shutdown the senhasegura Instances:

    • Access the secondary instance through the mt4adm user on port 59022.
    • Execute the following command to shut down the instance:
      orbit shutdown

    • After the complete shutdown of the instance in the cluster, repeat the process for the primary machine.
    • After the maintenance, turn the machines back on starting with the primary machine. Wait until it fully boots up, then turn on the secondary machine. Wait until it syncs in the cluster and finally return the arbitrator to the cluster.

By following these steps, you will be able to perform any maintenance without problems, ensuring minimal downtime in the environment and maintaining the continuity and stability of senhasegura services.
